95 toyota celica gt convertible automatic 2.2 engine ......it feels like the brakes aren't releasing and it will be driving normal and then at any given time i start to loose power and no matter what speed im going if i let up off the gas pedal the car will immediatly stop and i have to put the gas pedal to the floor and it will very slowly go but. Only 30 mph and gradually start losing power and speed and at that point the car starts to over heat i can then pull over and turn the car off and sit a few and then. Restart the car and it will either start doing it again or just be normal all of a sudden i have 220000 miles on it. And recently replaced the oil pump water pump and timing belt i also replaced the front brake hoses going to the caliper If anyone. Has experienced this before pleas let me know the car is a 95 so i cant scan it. And i would like to know what else to check before replacing the engine and or transmission

It sounds if the brakes are not releasing , to test drive to a level place , turn engine off place gear in neutral ,you should be able to move the car back and forward with out much effort , or you could jack up the wheels and they should spin freely .

Have you put the correct caliper on each side?
Are bleed screws facing upward?
If so you will probably need to have brakes pressure bled to push through air in ABS system.

SOURCE: no brakes after changing brake caliper & bleeding system

Sounds like you still have air in your brake lines. Make sure all your brake lines are tight. Then bleed again. Bleed the trouble side first, meaning right side, then go to front left, back left then back right, make sure that your brake fluid is also full

SOURCE: Code error P1361 Honda CIvic LX 2002

P1361 TDC Sensor Intermittent Interruption (I got this from Engine-Light-Help.com)
TDC should mean Top Dead Center.
It is the sensor that tells the computer the #1 cylinder piston is at the very top. And therefore, fires the spark plug.

Since the maintenance done above, I believe the the timing marks for the timing belt is not lined up properly. Being off by one tooth will cause this problem.

SOURCE: 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Brake Problem. Brake

This may sound dum but its been done a few times and is a simple mistake , the bleeder screw is up top, with the caliper on the bleeder screw should be up top, if not then calipers are on the wrong side, it sounds like air in the system, also you pumped the pedal up to push out the piston so pads hit rotor after bleeding,i dont see anything else, if the pedal is good with pinched lines at caliper then it got to be calipers are wrong or on the wrong side and the bleeder is not atop caliper, also you bleed the rear also? these trucks and cars use left caliper and rt rear on one system of the master and rt front and left rear on one side, let me know about the caliper, heres a picture to show you what i mean. hope this helpsjohnjohn2_23.jpg

On a 1981 Toyota celica gt, our taillights aren't

There is a fuse panel on the left side kick panel, look for a plastic cover and pull it off, the fuses are marked inside the cover, look for the "tail" fuse.

2002 Toyota Celica with a strange shifting problem.

I had the same problem, replacing you thermostat should do the trick, i spent 8.99 on a new thermostat and 99 cents on a seal. For some reason engine temperature affects the transmission shifting. Good luck

Brakes feel spongy.when pressed hard goes nearly to floor.if pedal released slightly and pressed again feels normal.this is a 1997 toyota caldina GGT with abs.have bled brakes and sgimmed discs.any ideas?

Either you did not bleed the brakes properly or they need adjusted. (rear only) Front most likely are disks. If you put pads on the front and spread the caliper pistons, you should pump the brake pedal 10 or 15 times to move the pistons out. Some ABS systems are notoriously hard to bleed.

2002 Toyota Celica with a strange shifting problem.

Automatic transmission are complex systems. The shifting of gears is based on a number of things like bands, speed, acceleration, deceleration, manifold back pressure, RPMs, temperature, etc.
Sometimes the electrical ground connection for the transmission can become corroded which causes poor shifting.
Since you are getting an error code, you should get a readout for it. Many auto supply store like Advance Auto will loan a meter for you to get a readout. Call up some stores to find one.

Stalls out when braking quickly, worse with going down hill

Assuming that the vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission, it looks like the torque converter lock-up system doesn't release as fast as it should, so if you brake hard, the converter is still locked up and your wheel brakes stall your engine (just like pressing ******* the brakes with the clutch pedal released on a manual transmission vehicle). Normally, when you brake hard, the lock-up should release and prevent the stall from happening. Might be a bad torque converter, or a bad lock up solenoid in the transmission... Before jumping to anything else, i'd try checking the fluid level in the transmission and an oil/filter change in the transmission. Lots of times one or the other can cure the problem.
