On my Jeep Patriot 2008 , where is Bank 1 and Bank 2 on the engine , when sat in the drivers seat ON THE RIGHT :- here in the UK please. I guess one is intake, other is exhaust side?

code p 2017 refers to intake manifold air control actuator position sensor/switch, bank 1 ---circuit high==== causes --wiring short to positive --intake manifold air control actuator position sensor /switch
code p 2018 refers to intake manifold air control actuator position sensor /switch, bank 1--circuit intermittent====causes --wiring---poor connection---intake man. air con. actuator sensor/ switch
almost the same but one is specific for the sensor and the other has options of wiring ,connections etc so before replacing the sensor/switch, I would suggest that the wiring and all connections are checked for corrosion and loose

the belt engine , 2.4L is not a world engine.
the 2.4L old Neon engine ended in 2005 on all
liberty, but yours never had them.
so again which engine above do you have,
the VIN code tells you as does the hood sticker.

as you may not know, this is regulated by, (drum roll) country SOLD.(to)
they have laws for this, not only that jeeps are made in Europe too. (all this is encoded in the VIN number on dash)

some dont even require it and the makers skip this, (saves $$$)
all steps making a car cost $$$
and the book that always shows this is what, the FSM
all uSA FSM books show all engine, and the serial location of each.
we dont need it here, or registrations don;t list engine numbers.

if not in the USA
the operators guide in the glove box might have this,
did you look there first. its a first first thing, on all cars made.
look first.

if you go to your jeep dealer, id bet they can answer this in a jiffy.
the be 2nd.
if that fails, they you need to learn what you are driving
what engine, and decode the VIN.
the VIN in most cases shows ENGINE code.
by telling others this code we can ID the engine and read books on your engine.

Vacuum leak on hoses or intake. Possible secondary ignition problem or spark plugs.

why not ask them. call them and ask,
we cant guess what you are driving nor your country here.

they match trans to engines. for correct shifting, etc.

you have VVT (var. valve timing, feature)
if yes, dont drive it.
it means the cam and crank are out of sync.
belt engines, need new belt.
chain engines, new chain and may be guides.

The Transmission Control Module AKA TCM is combined with the PCM on your Jeep. You will find the PCM inside of the right-side fender, which is located within the engine.

Sounds normal to me.
