That would depend on if it left the factory with A/C or not. If it did, you will just need to find out what part of the system has failed and repair it and have the system recharged. If it didn't leave the factory with A/C, it would probably be much easier to install an aftermarket kit like Vintage Air than it would be to try to install all of the components from one vehicle to another as the condenser, compressor, lines, wiring, controls, and evaporator core would definitely be more money than the truck would be worth.

It's the port on the accumulator. The silver tank attached to your fan box. The low side of your a/c system is always going to be the larger hose.

How do you bypass the ac unit on a 98 Chevy Blazer?
Go to your local parts store. Ask them for a AC bypass pully. You will remove your AC pump and replace it with the pully and bracket. hope this helps.

When your R-134a runs too low it will NOT engage the compressor. You need to refill your a/c system before the clutch will engage, I also suggest finding the leak.

For the 2000 Chevrolet Tracker:

Most modern vehicles have the Belt Routing Diagrams on the undeside of the Hood. But the sometimes disappear.

I do not know if you have the 1.6L In-Line 4-Cylinder, or the 2.0L DOHC In-Line 4-Cylinder. Nor what Engine Options you have (AC/No AC, etc.).

2000 Chevy Malibu making knocking sound when AC is on
Is it noisy with only the blower fan on or does the A/C have to be on to get the noise.
Try using the heater only and see if the noise is present.
