As part of the security system is embedded in the engine management ECU (ECM) the ECU has to recognise the code sent from the immobiliser before it will switch on and perform its functions.

Sometimes when ordering a replacement ECU using the vin from the dealer it will arrive programmed with the correct code but this is unlikely with aftermarket replacements and consequently reprogramming of the system will be required.

SOURCE: no bus

As far as the first question, can you get a PCM with the same number, yes.

Can you discribe what happened prior to the "no bus" message?

SOURCE: 2003 Jaguar S-Type, programming a key fob

The switchblade key would need to be compatable with your ignition switch barrel. Only normally available from jag dealers who check the Jag owners register before supplying you a replacement.
The older type seperate fobs could be programmed by switching the ignition on and off 8 times (allowing all functions to settle) and on the 9th switch on - press a button on each fob and then switch off. to test use a good fob to lock the car then try the reprogammed fob to unlock/lock. Sometimes this works first time - sometimes needs a couple of tries.

No, unless you go to the dealer. you can usually, with most car manufacturers, order a new key just provide the VIN and whatever else they ask you for

SOURCE: security on. car wont crank. can trun key wont

verify that you have a fully charge battery and that you have the same amount of voltage at the battery as at the starter when the key is turned to the start position. If not repair fault at positive cable either at battery or at starter. If voltage checks good. Use a remote starter and turn key to the on position and try to crank over engine with remote starter. if engine cranks over. You have a defective starter solenoid and starter must be replaced.

the immobilizer system is in lock mode. Sometimes cycling the key will bring it out of lock mode. Turn the key to the on position for 5 seconds, then off for 5 seconds for 5 times or more then recheck.
If that doesn't work you may be able to reset the control unit by removing both battery cables and touching them together for a few seconds. This procedure drains the control unit capacitors and they revert to their prelearned values.

Do you know anything about automotive electronic's ,serial data communication's between control module's ?
Circuit Description
When the ignition mode switch is placed in the START position, a discrete input is sent to the body control module (BCM) notifying it that engine start has been requested. The BCM then verifies that the brake pedal has been depressed with a discrete input from the brake pedal position sensor and that the key fob, with the correct code, is in the vehicle. After this information has been verified the BCM grounds the control side of the RUN/CRANK relay closing the switch side of it and allowing battery positive voltage to flow from the BATT 3 fuse through the RUN/CRANK relay switch, engine control module (ECM) fuse to the battery positive voltage side of the CRANK relay coil. The BCM also sends a high speed GMLAN message to the ECM requesting engine start. The ECM will then verify that the internal mode switch (IMS) is in Park / Neutral or the clutch pedal is fully depressed. After this has been verified the ECM then supplies 12 volts to the control circuit of the CRANK relay closing the CRANK relay switch circuit and allowing battery positive voltage to flow through the STARTER fuse, the CRANK relay switch to the S-terminal of the starter solenoid cranking the engine. Ground is supplied through the engine block.

QX56 WONT START

there is two "boxes" right behind the battery on the pass. side fender well. take a small hammer or rubber mallot and "tap" the box farthest into the cowling. try starting the vehicle immediatly after. (be gentle as to not break the plastic box, but don't be affraid to give it a smack) lightly tap the CAN mounted directly on the fender behind these plastic boxes as well, if it starts replace CAN communication area network its a fancy name for another computer
