Diagnostic trouble code P0605 indicates internal Transmission Controller fault. Needs to be replaced

Under the hood, there is a fuse block. I believe it is on the driver's side of your vehicle. Open that box, and pull the "ECU" fuse. Leave the fuse out for at least 5 minutes. Put the fuse back in, start the car, and let it idle for at least another 5 minutes. Do not drive the car, touch the gas, or even look at the gas pedal for these 5 minutes, as the ECU is remapping itself. This will properly reset the ecu and clear the codes. After this you may drive the car.

I had the same problem. The dealer had to reprogram the ecu. It cost about $110.

It is suggested you take it for a few runs. 25kms. atleast. After that, you can remove the positive battery connector and let it sit for atleast 5mins. before reconnecting.

Some advanced scan tools have the ability to shorten the time to reset monitors. You won't find this scanner at Auto Zone. My snap-on cost Ten grand.

You must wait for the system to run internal tests then if it sees no issue it will clear and show ready. This is called an OBD2 drive cycle test. The EVAP system is slow to clear along with the EGR system.

drive cycle, why not just forget that. I do. (mostly)
why>?
what do I do, i reset the PCM with my $10 scan tool
when dont, all monitors are now reset, ALL !

drive cycles to finish off all monitors? (a goal for say smog testing)

that is easy most clear fast. running fast.
but not EVAP, can take up to 30min but
if fuel tank is fuel, it never completes EVAP until 1/4 lower, 3/4 full and less.
EGR tests? can be easy if you drive fast, and then coast to a stop
both tests cleared. (sans complete)
monitors are (no appliclable, not ready or complete)
to do smog, all must be complete and no DTCs. (rare exceptions)

the drive cycle means number of times it takes to set a code for one test monitor or clear one.
some newer cars take 2 drives to set them.
and is important, the FSM covers this.
why not post symptoms or reasons for asking.

just curious?, then read the ASE book on OBD2 technology.

Evap code cleared not ready showing

The EVAP monitor is a pain to set. It needs 2 full drive cycles and will not reset sometimes if an EVAP code is pending. Check the pending codes with your code tool and see if there are any for the EVAP, if not, like I said, the EVAP is a tough monitor to set.

99 safari egr and o2 sensors won,t show ready. i did 200km and every drive cycle procedure i could find. 4 moniters not ready....egr,cat.,evap,and o2 . i only need egr,cat, or o2 to pass.

Have you tried resetting the CPU with a code reader that is after you have replaced the EVAP unit.

How do I get access to loosen torque converter to seperate engine and transmission to reomove engine only from car. Would it be at the small plastic cover on the bottom rear of engine. This is a 2.4l engine from a 2007 kia rondo. Thank you.

In order to set the monitor it the drive cycle 2 trip criteria that means you need to have a cold start up and reach operating temperature then another cold start up with a operating temperature reached and the drive for each one is part throttle hold for 2 miles and a decelration for the catalytic to get ready.when the cat is ready the evap runs.If you are loosing monitor at key off and everything reset you can see the referee let them smog it. The EGR and EVAP are almost impossilbe to get ready
