Will valet key cause car's transmission to quit?

Sometimes valet keys will make the vehicle run in limp mode so no joy riding is possible. Which limp mode limits the power the car will put out while driving.

I have a viper alarm on my car that wont shut off nor i cant start the car..and i have tried the button under my dash, how Can i shut it off??

was it a professional or shade tree install? the following is off vipers website:
disarming without a remote control
This feature allows you to disarm the security system without the
Remote Control should it be lost, damaged, or disabled. In order to
disarm the system without a remote remote control, you must have
the vehicle’s ignition key and know where the Valet button is
located. Be sure to check with the installer for the location and the
number of presses of the Valet button required to disarm the system.
To disarm the security system,
turn the ignition to the ON position.
Press the Valet button the
preset number of times (one to
five times) within 15 seconds. After five seconds the system will
disarm. If the system does not disarm, you may have waited too long;
turn the ignition off and on and try again.
if that doesn't work try this other

valet mode
You can prevent your security system from automatically arming
and triggering by using Valet Mode. This is very useful when
washing the vehicle or having it serviced. In Valet Mode, the
security system will not arm, even with the Remote Control, but
all convenience functions (door locks, trunk release, etc.) will
continue to work normally.
To enter or exit Valet Mode:
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. Turn the ignition off.
3. Press and release the Valet
button within 10 seconds.
The status LED will light solidly if you are entering Valet Mode,
and it will go out if you are exiting Valet Mode.

Need to find valet button

are you talking about the alarm the car came with from GM? if so there is no "valet button" if its the GM system it will need to be done by a dealer or a shop that has a TECH2 scanner.

When i replaced the battery on my 1994 grand cherokee the lights started flashing and after it started they stayed flashing for about 20 minutes and went out now the security light is on and won't go off...

that light blinking stuff would be from some kinda alarm built into the vehicle... if you have an alarm look under the dash on the driverside, you are looking for a little button hidden there, when you find it press it then turn the key to on and that should take it out of the valet mode it is in... if that doesn't work, then take it to a dealership to have them reset it for you... the truck right now sounds like it is in valet mode... you could try calling them and asking the service dept. if they can tell you how to get it out of valet mode... hope this helps you
