There is no 02 cherokee in USA< so you in EUROPE that it posting to USA forums lacking this car? here it is called. Liberty or Grand cherokee, is yours really a GRAND>? with V6 engine , none told.
no engine told.
wiki shows: The Jeep Liberty, or Jeep Cherokee (KJ/KK) outside North America,
so will answer for LIBERTY! IN USA, only ,I do not do outside USA for anyone, learn that cars are never the same world wide, ever.

what is the goal here, why leave that out????????????????
first do not assume any car has such a thing, do not.
the device is really 1 or 2 things
one is BLINKER< a.k.a as flashers
the the other is emergency flashers, some are all in one.
so let me look yours up.
i have jeep books fast. here at home. and account.
had 1999 cherroke once and a 2002 wangler, (08 now)
I am jeep guy, 2002 was the last best year for any jeep never sell it.
after that date jeep burried the car in endless computers and worse MARRIED so can not be touched by mortal man. (DIY)
i will not RTM read your manual to you.

the only reasons to ask this is for :
blinker acting odd
or adding tailer wiring,
no idea me what you are doing at all, so I answer blind as a bat best I can.
where is it. on newer cars the cars computers do the flashging
not some module.
ours works this way. lighting ,external + turns
ours has 9 pin flasher module
and is control buy the lever stalk (L/R) blinker on steering column
and by BCM computer, for emergancy mode.
now where is it, again USA)
the schematic states it is in the J/B (junction box)
did you lose the glove box operators guide that tells you all this fuse box stuff??????
the JB at driver left ankle up wards has 2 sides and both sides must be looked at to find all modules of this kind
just looked in my JEEP PDF bucket, and bingo 2002 liberty there.
here is what it tells there.
verbatim quotes:

Combination Flasher - An electronic combination
flasher is integral to the hazard warning switch
in the center of the instrument panel.
The combination flasher for this model is integral
to the hazard switch located in the center of the
instrument panel, just above the radio.
The combination
flasher is a smart relay that functions as both
the turn signal system and the hazard warning system
flasher. The combination flasher contains active
electronic Integrated Circuitry (IC) elements. This
flasher is designed to handle the current flow
requirements of the factory-installed lighting. If supplemental
lighting is added to the turn signal lamp
circuits, such as when towing a trailer with lights,
the combination flasher will automatically try to
compensate to keep the flash rate the same.
The combination flasher cannot be repaired or
adjusted and, if faulty or damaged, the hazard switch
unit must be replaced.

if your question was how to diagnose it
that be a 100% different answer and no problem even stated by you..
page 471 out of 2033 pages covers this this moduels replacement.
and Air BAD dangers many. (do not fool with those , ok)

step 1
did you scan the PCM with any OBD2 scan tool to see if there are DTC error related to your unstated issues?
that is first, not finding models. sorry./

SOURCE: 2002 jeep grand cherokee fan not working?????

Replace the fan relay switch. The dealer will charge you 400 to pull the bumper off, or you can buy the part for 45 and cut the hole in the plastic near the passenger headlight assembly and replace it yourself. There are instructions for this procedure on the web somewhere. I have had this problem more than once with my 02 GC V6.

Have my steering column on 2001 Jeep Cherokee sport opened up to replace hazard/turn signal flasher block. Cant find its location. Have already changed out turn signal switch assembly.

On the switch you just replaced, trace the RED/WHT and VIO/TAN wires toward the front of your Sport and they will connect to the combination flasher. It has BLK and BLK/PNK wires connected to it.
