I have a 1995 Lexus SC 400, the brake pedal is at the top but very hard to push and seems to be working at a minimum.

I hope to help u but it looks like u can use a help guide instead..simple google for a parts diagram or... like many are available at reliable -store.com and these are amazingly helpful.. trust me thats all u'll need.. im surprised they don't market enough because it's something we all need and we can use all the time!!!

You in the ball park. I would also check the idle control valve. Also, if you have not done so, check and/or change your fuel filter. GL.

Change air filter and TPS (throttle position sensor). It is subject to Physical wear. (1992, Age). A dirty air filter can put the MAF sensor out of range.

Transmission

More than likely,the shift interlock is malfunctioning.The interlock consists of an electrical solenoid mounted on the shifter.It is actuated by a signal from the brake pedal switch.Many cars have an access port for a manual override so you won't be stranded somewhere.
