I have an 04 Lesabre that starting dying on me randomly and got progressively worse. I was able to throw it in neutral and it would restart, but after a week of this it died and will not start back up. The fuel pump tests good, I have spark, and compression. I changed the crank position sensor with a aftermarket and it started for me twice, I put it all back together and once again it wouldn’t start. The next day I replaced the sensor with an oem sensor and it didn’t change anything. I’m all out of ideas.

Try spraying carb. cleaner into the throttle body an see if it starts then , at least till the fuel is used up.

I had the same problem with My 1990 F150 300 6cylinder 4x4.....I cahnged all the same things you did, finally I sprayed a can of Gumout through the throttle body and it worked and ran great. Now I add fuel injector cleaner to the gas and a regular clean with the gumout and the problem has'nt come back. Good Luck to you and hope it works!

SOURCE: 2001 Xterra - Replaced fuel pump twice and is still not running.

I am no expert, but I just had a similar problem. The car would shake and buck when accelerating. It finally just died and would not start. After sitting for some time, the car would start and run a while, then do the same thing. I thought fuel pump. The dealer diagnosed distributor. After replacing, the car is running perfect. Something to think about. Good luck.

SOURCE: Vehicle dies while driving down the road.

could it be the A/C pump kicking in. might be boging down the motor or electrical circuit, not letting the injectors get enough power. This could happen if the bearings are going bad in th A/C pump or there is a short in it. Just an idea. sounds like you have done the main components.

2010 Denali. Started with a slight miss after replacing fuel pump, after a few weeks or so. Replaced plugs and wires. Progressively getting worse.

Very unlikely - problem seems to be fuel delivery, and obvious causes are a failing fuel pump or regulator. Fuel pressure should not vary that much.

Car shuts off driving

Had this on 91 lesabre, wire going to crank sensor had bare spot and occasionally bumped on eng block above sensor, would die, but started right up again, if going straight, could shift to neutral and restart while coasting. Dangerous when turning corner

The Jaguar has a number of electrical problems...among which is a worse problem than you have right now. It can select reverse when idling at a stop !

The emergency brake can also automatically apply its self at any speed .

Car was parked and running and just killed on its own and will not start. does this sound like the fuel pump or maybe fuel filter?

If the battery is strong and charged, starter is fine, car ran okay while getting progressively worse until it died and won't restart now, might be fuel filter or pump. I've dealt with two cars with fuel filter issues. Both would idle fine, but run progessively worse under load and eventually die and not start although everything else checked out. Engine turned fast enought to start, battery strong, alternator fine, air cleaner clean, all that. No start. Changed fuel filters and done. Everything back to normal. Both cars were about model year 1990 (1989 and 1991). Replaced one in a parking lot and car fired right back up and powered on home just fine, whereas the week leading up to it it ran worse and worse, hesitated on acceleration and finally would die if you hit the gas. Fuel filter may be in engine compartment. Looks like a canister with an in and an out for fuel. Pump is in gas tank and is way more work and money. Good luck, hope this helps.

2001 buick lesabre-ac problems

  • Assumed your AC unit is OK, but uneven temperature distribution. Try to throw the heater on an off severtime. A sticky valve on the heater would cause similar problem.
  • Observe the RPM while parking your car. While the AC cut in cut out (or turn on an off). If it cause no load on the engine. The freon may be low or the compressor is bad. In this case only the intake side of the evaporator is cooler than the other side.

I have a 2000 Buick LeSabre with a 3.8L engine. Engine dies all of a sudden without warning. Let it sit for awhile and engine starts and runs perfectly and then happens again. Mechanic at repair shop is...

I had the same problem with my 2000 le sabre custom. It would die in the middle of the interstate. I could throw it into neutral and it would restart and keep on going or I'd have to let it sit for about 5 minutes and it would usually start. There is no code, Dealer said to bring it in when it's happening. Yeah, right..if it's drivable..it's not happening. Replaced the fuel pump twice, the camshaft and crankshaft sensors, but still happened randomly. I had to stop driving the car because it was unsafe.
