What do the plugs look like? Try gapping .015 short and see if the problem abates.

SOURCE: miss fire #3 cyld. compression 125psi idle speed 2500 rpm

Hi

A faulty IAC would cause a random misfire rather than a misfire in a specific cylinder, as would an intake air leak, both of which would cause a high idle amongst other things.

Run the engine until its good and hot, disconnect the injector harness plug so the injectors are disabled, remove all the spark plugs, disable the ignition by unplugging the wiring connector(s) from the coil pack(s), and then carry out another compression test on al the cylinders.

If the compressions are now all relatively the same then you very highly likely have a faulty injector in cylinder 3.

Very best regards

Geordie

05 sentra 1.8 L transmission speed sensor and vehicle speed sensors have both been replaced.codes continue to come up and vehicle randomly miss shifts then cruise is inop. Also shifts back and forth...

after having replace sensors with new items ( not 2nd hand units ) and the codes reappear then the problem was not fixed by the sensor replacement. IN the list of possible causes for the codes ,the TCM will be a prominent failure point and the wiring and connects are next. Down the list will be mechanical failure and this need to be checked out by a pressure test being done on the transmission, adjustments to the band and clutch packs. Check all wire connections for clean pins and tight connections . The cruise controls requires a constant circuit for it to work so that any failure of a circuit indicates the need for the driver to resume control of the vehicle ( braking-)

Vw sharan loud whistling from front of car

Theres many holes on the fire wall for the wires to come through from the engine to behind the dashboard, one could be missing the rubber around it or one could be missing, also you may likely have a leak on your windshield, you can get some black silicone and patch it with it, same for the dashboard.

2003 S10 2.2L low speed miss

Could be a vac leak or other ignition problem.
A vac leak could be covered up by the extra fuel and higher idle speed when the engine is cold. And if it is a gasket leaking the leak can get bigger as the engine warms up.
A faulty plug wire or coil could start failing when hot.
A solid miss-fire should make the check engine light come on and set a trouble code.

Pickup hesitates when strarting off, has a miss while driving at constant speed. If it were and 50 or 60 model I would think the timing was off.

Check the gap on your spark plugs and also check the resistance of the wires - a low resistant wire will do this at take off and around 40 mph

Plug wires! If it miss fires under a load it's usually an ignition problem. Check the plugs and replace if necessary and replace the plug wires.
