1995 Chevy Blazer S/10 LT. engine was spitting/spatting. We replaced the spider injector unit. Now, when in idle state runs ok and in reverse it runs smooth. However, when in drive, it spits and spats and has no power. We found an unconnected (thick red wire) up by the back top left-hand corner (driver side) under hood, which might leed to the transmission. Can this be the drive power wire and if so, what does it connect to under the hood?
Should hook up to junction block on the fire wall near brake booster . Should be 4 all together , these are main power supply's for the vehicle ,two power the ignition switch .This is not a direct feed to the transmission . I know this is an old post, but I am aware that a lot of people have similar problems.
I am having a misfire problem myself. I found that my head gasket had been leaking and the engine coolant had corroded my valve seats.
If you have this problem the two best things for you to start with is a compression test on the cylinders and a fuel pressure test. This is assuming you have had a tune up.
