SOURCE: How do I recharge the AC on 2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette?

You need to check for leaks first. WalMart sells a kit to recharge your a/c system with R-134a and a stop leak sealer. Make sure your core valve is tight. You'll need a longer valve tool than what you use for your tires. Good luck

SOURCE: Olds silhouette heater blows cold air

as long as the engine temperature is normal, i would suspect a clogged heater core, the dex-cool antifreeze is notorious for building up deposits in cooling system. have heater core flushed first to see if it makes any difference

SOURCE: changed battery oldsmobile 2001 silhouette

a. try turning the key to accessory and leaving it there until the error light goes out. b. if you haven't yet, drive it 20-30 miles and let the main computer reset itself.
hopefully, that should solve the problem!
good luck!

SOURCE: How do you change a headlight on a 2001 oldsmobile

I don't know if you mean the headlight bulb, or the headlight.

When you open the hood and look at the headlight assembly. At the top between the turn signal there is a black plastic wing nut. Unscrew that wing nut to remove the side marker light. After removing that nut persuade it to slide forward. That's the only thing that locks it in. Untwist the socket to replace the turn signal bulb. Since that is out now...There are two more Wing nuts just like the first one that hold the headlight assembly in place. (The black plastic piece the headlight is mounted to) Remove these two wing nuts and lift up on the whole assembly. Those are the only things that lock it into place. Once you slide it off the studs the wing nuts were on. Unplug the plug from the back of the light (use a flat screwdriver to lift the tab a little). Twist the round plastic ring that holds the bulb in. The bulb should pull out now. Don't touch the new bulb with your fingers as it is a halogen bulb and the oil on your fingers will cause a hot spot on it, causing it to fail SOON. If you happen to touch the glass part of the headlight bulb, clean it with rubbing alcohol. Reverse the steps...go eat dinner.

SOURCE: I have a 2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette and the

the traction control system watches wheel speed thru the wheel speed sensors. it was designed to aid in traction in slippery conditions. when one of the wheels loses traction and the system sees an abnormal insrease of speed in one of the wheels the system will activate and derate the power to avoid wheel slippage. going around a corner the outside wheel will spin faster then the inside wheel. under normal acceleration nothing will happen, however under heay acceleration you may be causing a wheel to break free, especially on wet roads. you could have a speed sensor problem but i would expect you would also have an antilock problem. try a slower acceleration around corners then try a heavy acceleration, if it was ok on normal acceleration but activated on heavy acceleration then your going to have to lighten up on the pedal a bit. otherwise the system should be scanned for codes. i never liked this system much and it wasen,t around too long. good luck!

Can't get rid of Power Steering noise on my 2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette

You haven't described the noise or whether the noise increases when the pump is under load, or perhaps that is the only time it makes a noise?

As you undoubtedly know some noise is natural when a fluid is being forced through hoses and orifices under great pressure and some systems are noisier than others, especially when the steering is on full lock and all the surplus pressure is diverted through the relief valve.

Perhaps there is an inherent fault that is causing the fluid to become aerated or perhaps it is something more basic and the drive pulley alignment is off.
Perhaps it is a matter of poor routing of hoses and pipes transmitting normal noise into the body and amplifying it.

I believe there are additives available that can help lessen some of the noises of complaining oil.

Location signal flasher

Under the drivers side dash. Move your seat all the way back and tilt your steering wheel all the way up....then lay on your back and shimmy up underneath the steering column, with your back resting on the floorboard. Remove the cardboard cover that hides all the wires and steering column. The flasher is located up towards the steering column between the column and the center dash. It you have trouble locating it....turn your ignition to accessory mode, (the key position just before it engages the starter), and turn on the turn signal....you will hear the click click.....click click and find it immediately. It is a square/maybe slightly rectangular shaped box about 1 1/4" X 1 1/8" X 3/4" tall. It plugs into a receptacle that is on the end of a set of wires that are strapped to the side of the steering column. Hold the receptacle with one hand and grasp the flasher and pull it out with the other hand.

Where is the turn signal relay on 2003 olds silhouette?

Check up under the dash beside the steering column in that area.
You should be able to hear it if it works at all if the key is on and lever activated.

2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette Premiere - windows fog off and on inside.

Could be a blend door problem. You would need fresh air from the outside to keep the windows from fogging up. If the blend door that controls outside air gets stuck or fails to open, you may not get fresh air. The ac compressor would also need to run every few minutes to dry the air hitting the windshield.

My 99 Olds Sillouette wipers only work on HIGH, no low or intermittent?? Any ideas..

You may check on the terminals of the wiper switch in your steering column if the wires are connected and the switch still has good contacts. Another is the relay, normally found under the hood of the car in the plastic boxes on the side. It should be written on the cover (or under it) which part is for the wiper.
