Could be lots of things...fuel pump, crank or cam sensor, a relay, etc

timming chain not belt . its a really big job i suggest the dealer.to much work and u need a lift to do the job!

I would suggest start by replacing your battery terminal ends or at least removing them and cleaning them and the battery posts very good. A small piece of sandpaper will shine the battery posts up nicely. Clean off all the battery corrosion if there is any on the terminal ends and tighten them down on the battery posts tight so they don't move. If that doesn't solve the problem, check the onboard computer trouble codes.

spray electronic contact cleaner in the sides of the volume control. its just dust making it not work.

might be the idle air control valve
when it shorts out, it shots the engine computer as well.

ALTERNATOR!!!!! REPLACE WITH REBUILT. I actually had EXACTLY the same problem on my '96 J30. Went to a junk yard, pulled out one from '94... Bada Bing ...Oh!

1991 infiniti i30 3.0 liter,won't start ,turns over faster than normal

Your timing belt or chain could be broke.
First model year for the I 30 in the US was 1996 and it used a timing chain.
Have you checked compression yet ?

Horrible Random misfire in car

This is common issue with Infiniti I30 1999-2001.

When the coil packs fail they burn up components/parts on the engine computer ECU. If the problem gets worse, you will need to replace the ECU or have it rebuilt.

Is your check engine light on?
You might also get code P0505
Technical bulletin also recommends to replace
The Idle Air Control Valve MUST be replaced prior to re-installation of the ECM, or immediate damage to the computer will occur again.
