When i go about 40 it starts growling and the faster i go the louder the noice gets and it somtimes goes away
Is it 2wd or 4wd?
Check your wheel bearings.
Jack up the truck....... use jack stands....be safe.
Spin each front wheel and hold your hand on a suspension part close to the wheel to "feel" the bearing vibration/roughness.
One or both may feel and/or sound noisy.
If it is a 4x4 you could have a wheel bearing problem and/or a bad front differential bearing.
Also check the tires for rough tread areas as in cupping areas along the surface tread of the tires......this makes a heck of a noise too.
Sounds like the cooling fan clutch to me, look under the hood next time you hear it, will be easy to confirm if that is the noise.
