it's not any of what any of you suggested - it is a $4 part called a pedal bushing and it is connected to your brake pedal. The bushing fills a void where there is a switch, that when NOT depressed your brake lights stay on. It's a pain to replace, but that is what it is. I bet you found pieces from the old one on your floorboard.
It is underneath the lower intake in the middle of the "valley" on V6
models. between the cylinder heads on the block. pretty big job. the
knock sensor WILL NOT turn the check engine light on. it will store a
code but NOT turn the light on. (i am a nissan tech, trust me) it will
effect the timing and fuel strategy though.
some nissans have a rubber plug on the metal part of the brake pedal look under the dash where the the pedal arm meets the brake light switch if there is a hole ther the plug has fallen out to make sure find the brake switch and manually push the plunger on the switch in have an assitant see if the brake lights go off if they do you will need to replace the rubber insert there will be a hole in the brake pedal arm where it goes
1.Remove front & Rear turn signal Bulbs.
2.Replace Fuse.
3.Signal on.
4.Fix rear Signal Bulb.
5.Fix Front Signal Bulb.
7.If your Fuse blown.
8.Defect is There.
240 Drifter recommends if your referring to your brake lights check your brake sensor, could still be engaged.Otherwise try switching relays around with similar ones on the car.problem could be a stuck relay.
