If you mean the vehicles speed sensor (VSS) it's on the transmission by the axles if you mean wheel speed sensor they are on all 4 wheels go to rockauto.Com and look up your vehicle and then go to brake and wheel hub your sensor pictures are there so you can see what your looking for

SOURCE: Cobalt not running at low rpm.......

All are possibilities but EGR valve makes the most sense. It's famous for causing poor idling and/or stalling at low RPMS. Best of luck.

If it is a four wheel drive it will be on the transfer case,
If two wheel drive it will be on transmission,it still looks like where a speedometer hookup,but it will have a sensor with three wires now

SOURCE: Where is the INPUT Vehicle Speed Sensor on a 2006 Chevy Cobalt LT 2.4 l engine?

I'm fairly sure it is inside the side cover on the driver side of the transmission. Some of the solenoids are also there but I think they are under the side cover too.
BTW - I show a 2006 LT model having the 2.2 engine and the SS model having the 2.4 engine.

On the drivers side. On the transmission, just above the cv axle.

On the passenger side. Follow the axle to the transmission. The first sensor you come to is the speed sensor.
