Take you r car to an automatic transmission specialist and ask them to look at it.

Be prepared for them to tell you it needs to be replace along with the transmission.

There is nothing you can do yourself

SOURCE: will 1995 4l60e ecu, lockup a 700r4 torque converter?

Your best fix would be to install a hydralic lock-uo kit in the transmission. This would be best done by a good trans shop. The lock-up systems between a 4l60 and a4l60e are quite different and would shorten torgue converter life.Hope this helps you.

Why won't it shift into overdrive?

Overdrive is really just torque converter lockup, not a separate gear. Check TCC fuse, then relay in the trans pan. Can be bad torque converter also.

Transmission light on. Rpm go to 3000 when I'm doing 55mph.it not going into 4th gear (overdrive) what's wrong with my truck?

It seems as though your electronic "lock up" on the torque converter is not actuating. TCC lockup/Torque Converter Clutch lockup.

Transmission wont go into gear after starting car

I have never heard of a problem this extreme. Here are two ideas to try. First, the torque converter is separate from the transmission, but acts like a pump. The torque converter has to lockup in order to turn the transmission shaft. This means if the torque converter does not work your car will not move right. There are pressure adjustments on some automatics which can only be set by someone with the right tools. Last, I think it would take a lot more than the wrong fluid in the car to make this much difference. But make sure the correct fluid is in the car. Good luck

I have a 1994 Olsmoblie Cutless Supreme LS, 3.1L V6 , front wheel drive, with 3 speed Torque Converter Lock-out type overdrive transmission. The car drives cold or hot fine until It goes up a hill or can...

First thing,

lets start with a transmission flush and filter change. then have you checked any of your vacume lines. A bad vacume line is the number one thing that causes any form of transmission mis shifting. When it gets warmed up the lines alow cracks to open up and mess up the function of the vacume line. Also you need to have the torque converter checked. You also need to have a computer scan on the vehicle. a bad sensor or coputer could cause any of these problems.

let me know what happens when you check these out.
