1993 Pontiac Trans Sport AC on and off intermittently. Seems like it is somehow related to the windshield wipers being on or off. Husband thinks I'm crazy.

I had to run a new ground wire from my wiper motor to a chassis ground to eliminate a similar problem on mine. Mine kept intermittently stopping, of course always at the worst time. The ground wire resolved the issue.
It's an exhaust valve inside the transmission, when the solenoid isn't working right, the pressurized fluid can't exhaust through the passages, which can cause rough shifting. It has to be taken to a transmission shop, the transmission pan has to be dropped and possibly the valve body to get at the solenoid. Hope this helped.
