Radio volume goes up and down when its on a low volume not on high

There are a number of reasons which are explained in the link. The most likely is a faulty volume control, but it could also be high voltage and the protection circuit.

I have a question. I own a 1997 Toyota Camry. the on off controls for the stereo is really messed up. It is really loose to. But you can be driving down the road and it will go from low volumn to high volume. If I hit a bump or turn a corner it will either get louder or softer. What can be done.

I can give you most of your answer and it depends on the Radio. Ford has a speed-compensated Radio that will adjust the volume of the Radio to the speed of the car. This feature means you will not have to adjust a radio down at a stoplight or when going to a drive-thru.

Then when the car speeds up and engine and road noise increase, so does the volume on the Radio. So you will not have to adjust the volume of the Radio when you drive.

You need to fix the speedometer to get the radio to work correctly. You probably have a sensor connector or the sensor itself making the problem. Go to an Autoparts store and get a sensor and it will probably work fine.

sounds like a serious electrical issue there hard to track down could be the computer staarting to go in car the radio could of been hooked up wrong causeing other stuff to short out what year is the car what kind of car

The radio's in most VW's are fickle. You basically need a new unit. Whatever you do ,do not buy one from the Dealer. Any other models are cheaper and will last and work better than the factory unit.

There is nothing wrong with your radio. Your Elantra radio automatically changes the volume for you. When you slow down and stop, it lowers the volume, then the volume goes back up when you accelerate.

Chk the -- wire to the speakers.
