SOURCE: 2004 Mazda RX8

Had the same problem today with flooded engine. I tried new plugs ($86.00) and used the clear flood mode but to no avail. Spoke to a tech at the mazda dealership and odd as this sounds it worked. On the right side of the engine on the intake about half way down the runner you will find 2 rubber plugs that cover vacumn ports. The front one is the easier of the 2 to access, hook up a piece of vacumn hose to that port, on the other end you need to hook up a funnel. You will have to adapt the hose up to get it to fit. Remove the fuel pump relay, it is the blue relay at the front of the fuse box and is closest to the radiator. Pour a half to 3/4 quart of transmission fluid in the funnel and have someone crank the engine(with a battery charger or jumper cables hooked to your battery so you won't run the battery down). Leave throttle closed, as the fluid gets sucked down you will here engine compression build and it will act like it is going to start, at that point while it is still being cranked stick the fuel pump relay back in. It should then start, it may spit and sputter but it will run. Remove the hose from the vacumn port and reinstall port plug. The car will smoke for quite awhile but the smoke will finally disipate. From start to finish it only took about 2 min. to get the car started. I asked him if that much fluid would hurt it and he said no. He also said that they see this problem a couple of times a week. He also said that they don't take the plugs out and clean prior to doing the procedure, it will work on the old plugs. This saved me a tow to the dealership and probably a couple hundred dollars.

SOURCE: 1990 toyota celica fuel problem.

start with trying to start the car with your foot hard on gas pedal, all the way to the floor this will stop fuel flow on start up its called clear flood mode. as the engine starts to fire and run ease off the pedal until it idles, it may take some time to run smoothly. if it doesnt run or stalls after a short time and then will not run i would try a ECU engine control unit as it supplies the earth circuit to the injectors, may be thats whats holding them open or they are dribbling badly and require overhauling

NO REV, gas engines (none told, nor country)
cam belt slipped?
bad fuel
spark plugs bad.
fuel pressure low or bad filter, FPR or pump.
air cleaner filter packed full of GUNk.
bad MAP or MAF sensors.
intermittent too, may be fuel pump/FPR related.

Cylinder 2 not working Daewoo cielo 1.5i 1995

Do you have spark at cylinder 2? If not, check spark plug wire or spark plug. Another possibility is the ignition coil pack (the thing your spark plug wires run in to). Hopefully that is not the issue because they are expensive new. An easy way to check is to pull the spark plug out of the engine then reconnect it to the spark plug wire. Turn the engine over and check for spark at the end of the plug. WARNING: don't touch the plug unless you like pain. You can always buy a spark plug tester. Anyway, this will determine if you have spark problems with this cylinder.

Hi I drive an 1998 Daewoo Cielo 1.5 My car struggle to start when it stands overnight or during the day. When it does start you get a very strong smell of gas. What can the problem be?

The engine is flooding with gasoline. Fuel pressure exceeds the ability of the check valve to hold it back. Either the check valve needs replacing, or the fuel tank pressure is too high. The fuel cap may also need replacing.

Turns over but doesn't start

How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes?
If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the spark plugs, gasoline engine. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Also, check fuel injector pulse.
What is your year--make--model--engine size, it didn't post for some reason?

1996 daewoo cielo wont start.

First you need to see if your getting spark to the plugs, then you need to check to see if fuel is getting to the fuel rail.

If this is OK, then check power to the CKP (Crank Position) sensor that comes from the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) and the trigger also comes from the camshaft so the only thing you can test is the wires from the crank sensor connector to the PCM and if good then the problem is on the pcm computer. Some fault codes there?

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.
