hiccup.s can be lots of things,
so tell when the hicup ,er misfire happens
hot or cold engine. ? or both.
at any speed. , only fast right foot?, or only wide open throttle?
only on hills. ?
so far , no miss at idle or slow speed.
stalls hot. what engine of the many??????????????
stalls are complex over 50 causes, have a list. bah list.
pure physics lists are better. (posted 50 times)
1: bad 12vdc to EFI system parts. see lamps dim?Lost elect power.
2: engine compression low, or engine cant pump air.
3: bad spark (bad spark , missing a tuneup? or timed wrong by shop that is dumb. doing said tune up all wrong.
if you attach a strobe light and check static timing , if way off
the cam belt has slipped, again not doing service, and if chain, i see many slipped too. (owner ignores the screams)
4: bad fueling too much or too little.
stuck open EGR main valve
stuck closed ISC ,valve.
The engine must run real well for ISC to work right. its last.
the isc can not control idle if engine is way lean or way rich.
when you turn engines with custom ECU , you find this out fast.
idle speeds is last to work right , AFR is 1st (after spark)
aFR = air fuel ratios.
common sense tells you that things do wear out...yes it is very important to replace those items before one goes out and maybe damage an otherwise incredible little engine!!
You could put in a turbo or increase air flow.
You could buy an aftermarket ecu which is tuned for performance.
You could also get a machinist to make the cylinder bores bigger and put in bigger pistons etc but this may be expensive.
Or replace the engine.
dont look for air when the car cuts out its most likley spark or fuel when it cuts out ranomly its usually a sensor or relay that is faulty check fuel pump relay and camshaft or crankshaft sensors but first narrow it down to spark or fuel if possible also if check engine lite is on check codes
