Had the same problem You need to go to dealer and order an O2 sensor with California emissions. The wire will be longer and fit into the prong

IF THE CONECTOR ON THE END IS THE SAME THEN IT WILL WORK AND THE COLORS DO NOT MATTER. YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE THAT THE CONECTORS ON THE END ARE THE SAME THE AFTERMARKET SUPPLIER DOES NOT USE THE SAME COLORS AS THE FACTORY. A LOT OF TIMES THAT IS HOW WE KNOW WHEN AN AFTERMARKET PART IS USE.

Is there a o2 senser fuse in fuse box if my 97 mazda protege

Has the sensor 4 wires, if yes it has a fuse. The two white wires are for a heater, use a volt meter, should get 12volts across these wires, black wire is an earth and the grey wire is the sensor. If the heater is not working (fuse blown) it will give that code. I have had this fault on a Seat, changed both sensors (180 pounds), then found a broken wire on the back of the fuse box?????????

Oxygen sensor, how do you replace it

Hi John:
According woth the repair manual, this is the procedure about OXYGEN (O2) SENSOR:
The O2 sensor is located in the right exhaust downpipe below the exhaust manifold flange (Fig. 18).

REMOVAL
WARNING: THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD BECOMES VERY HOT DURING ENGINE OPERATION. ALLOW ENGINE TO COOL BEFORE REMOVING OXYGEN SENSOR.
(1) Raise and support the vehicle.
(2) Disconnect the wire connector from the O2 sensor.

CAUTION: When disconnecting the sensor electrical
connector, do not pull directly on wire going into sensor.
(3) Remove the O2 sensor from the exhaust manifold.

INSTALLATION
Threads of new oxygen sensors are factory coated with anti-seize compound to aid in removal. DO NOT add any additional anti-seize compound to the threads of a new oxygen sensor.
(1) Install the O2 sensor into the exhaust manifold. Tighten to 30 NIm (22 ft. lbs.) torque.
(2) Connect the O2 sensor wire connector.
(3) Lower the vehicle.

I have a 2000 Mazda Protege and i am getting the code P1141 H025 Bank 1 sensor 1 heater circuit low input. Do i need to change an oxygen sensor? What do i need to do to fix the problem?

Most likely a bad O2 sensor. Search the internet for O2 sensor info for how they work and more detail on heated O2 sensors. Sensor 1 means upstream or in the manifold. In front of the catylytic converter. There is what appears to be a small catylytic converter at the very end of the exhaust manifolds in addition to the one that looks like a normal size converter. Sensor one is at the back of the exhaust manifold between the engine and the manifold. Reference source: http://www.aa1car.com/library/o2sensor.htm

Or...

The heater circuit can be checked with a test light connected to ground. ( a test light is an ice pick looking tool with a clear handle with a 12 volt bulb inside and a ware with a clip to connect to ground, the light will light as the tip is touched to anything powered up with 12 volts and sometimes a little more and a whole lot less) Find the oxygen sensors ( their screwed into the exhaust pipes) Disconnect the electrical connectors and connect the test light to ground, with the key on test the wires in the plug connected to the vehicle. one of them should light the light, if it does reconnect it and test the rest of the sensors, recalling which wire was live. ( most are white or gray but they vary some). If all the sensors have power it's not the power but the sensor failed. with an ohm meter test the sensor for the wire that was hot to the other wire that is the same color if the snensor is open ( no circuit ) you have found the bad sensor. If you can't find power going to any of the sensors. Check the fuse boxes for blown fuses ( check them all with a test light) If you find a blown fuse replace it but go back to the wiring that connects to the sensors and you'll find someplace where the wire melted to the exhaust pipes and shorted out, blowing the fuse. The sensors short out too but not very often.

O2 sensor location 1997 pontiac grand am 2.4 4 cyl auto trans

BANK 1 SENSOR 1 IS THE ONE IN THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. BANK 2 SENSOR 2 IS BELOW THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER.

P0171 SHOULD GO AWAY WITH A GOOD O2 SENSOR BUT DO CHECK FOR VACUUM LEAKS TO BE SURE. 3.1/3.4L ENGINES HAVE A BAD DESIGN INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET, THE LEAK OIL, COOLANT, AND AIR.

Where is the O2 sensor located in a 2003 Mazda Protege 5? The schematic that I pulled shows 2 in the engine and none by the exhaust.

Should have one located in the exhaust manifold, or soon after, then one in the catalytic converter, or soon after.

Lambda Sensor

Hi,

To my knowledge, the Lambda Sensor (also known as O2, Direct-Fit Oxygen or HEGO sensor) is threaded through the exhaust manifold as shown below.
267edcf.jpg It would have 4 wires - 1 black, one gray and two whites. Depending on the country of manufacture, above the exhaust around the wiring harness there may be a male connector its white or green connector with 4 pins, at the end of the O2 there suppose to be a female connector on it which is white or green or black/yellow wire, purple/white wire, brown wire and a white wire. It would look something like this 2e5597a.jpg

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
