How do i find out about my fuel injection on a 1988 fox. The car

Thought that was throttle body injected that year,anyway 2 1/2 turns out from bottomed out should put you in the ball park.

is the car injected? are you sure it was the fuel return line?
when the water was put in tank was the car driven?
WHY WOULD YOU PUT WATER IN YOUR FUEL TANK???

Hello: 1st, pumping the accelerator on a fuel injected GM car does NOT do any good. In fact if you put the accelerator to the floor you put the system in the lean mode ie, reduce fuel. You will need a fuel pressure gage and there should be a schrader valve on the fuel lines/fuel rail where you can connect the fuel pressure gage. The fuel pressure should be about 10 psi if you have throttle body injection. Is your car a 4 cylinder? If its a 4 cylinder you may not have a schrader valve to connect the pressure gage. You will need a high dollar kit to tap into the fuel line. Have someone attempt to start the car and you remove the air cleaner an see if the injector is spraying fuel.

make sure you have new gas in the tank and then start the car with the accelerator all the way to the floor until it starts..dont pump it, just keep it all the way to the floor until it starts and then let off on it... if the system has been empty it may take a few times

These CIS vehicle are tempermental. Best thing to do is change the air filter, clean air flow sensor plate(Spray gunout on a rag and lightly clean it ) Gun out throttle body and a slight idle adjustment. Finallyonce a month put some fuel injection cleaner in the tank. See how this works before we start testing items.

get a new timing chain then tune it up

If you have the belt driven injector pump its 2560psi on the first spring and 3903psi on the second spring.
If the pump is gear driven and single spring injectors its 2631psi

U WILL NEED TO PUT FUEL STABILIZER IN THE FUEL TANK OR THE GAS WILL GO BAD AND GUM UP THE FUEL INJECTION.

You can buy the fuel pipes and if you are handy with tools, you should be able to do the repairs. Source the pipes from motor factors.

Hi,have you done a fuel pressure check on the vehicle.This will check the status of your fuel pump.If its a carb engine it will be 5 to 7 psi.If its fuel injection it will be approx.35 to 45 psi.Good Luck!!!
