My 97 Thunderbird is misfiring on # 3 and # 4 cylinders

It should be on the left side of the steering column under the das.

Here is a diagram of the cylinder numbers and firing orders including the coil pack layouts for many Ford engines. Yours is center top & the firing order is 1,3,7,2,6,5,4,8. Hope this helps you.

theres only one and its located with the starter u buy a new starter and the cylinoid comes installed with it on it

try using a flat screwdriver

Les.. After trying everything else that made sense, I installed 2 new coil packs and have never had a misfire since.. I replaced both just to keep things even on both sides.. OCD, lol.....

This sounds as if the (pcm) Powertrain control module has a ground circuit. It will need to be replaced.
