I have hyndai elantra 2001 automatic sometimes hesitant to start.

I have hyndai elantra 2001 (March 2001) automatic. Sometimes car is hesitant to start and it take like 5 tries to go on and start. Once started, there will be no problem for like a month (i can turn it off and start it again normally). Any suggestion ?
Thanks

Sounds like a fuel pressure problem. Check/inspect your electrical connections to the fuel pump (power & ground). Also, connect a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel line at the fuel injector rail - leave it connected so if and when you have this problem again, you will be able to determine if the cause is fuel pressure/pump.

I have a 2001 elantra automatic. Hesitant from a cold start

Without knowing what the fuel pressure is, no one can say for sure. You'll need to check that. If you find there is a fuel pressure issue, you'll need to isolate the cause (wiring, connectors, pump relay or the pump itself). You will also want to inspect/examine the intake air hose, filter & vacuum lines to eliminate those things as possible causes. Additionally, you might simply have a throttle position sensor which is malfunctioning/going bad. You'll also want to scan your OBDII for any trouble codes which may have been set and which could help narrow down your search for the cause.

2004 Hyndai Elantra starts, runs for 1-2 sec. then shuts off.

Your car may have an "immobilizer" which is part of the security system. It will start and stall if someone uses an "unauthorized" key to start it. In other words, a key that was not programmed by Hyundai or the dealer to run the engine. This happens if you had repairs done and immobilizer was interrupted and all keys were not present for programming and you're using one of those keys perhaps and sometimes it just loses its frequency. These systems often have a different frequency each time they're coded so all keys must be programmed at the same time every time. Sometimes the immobilizer coding process is simple and included in the owners manual...NOTE: this could be an indication of a bigger problem if it keeps happening.
Good luck
