Question about Holden Cars & Trucks
SOURCE: car keeps loosing its power.
Hi there,
I have a VS ute also so am familiar with the car. If it is losing power it could be an electrical problem to do with the computer. On the dash panel there is an engine light - does it come on? If so that is a warning light which if you take it to a Mechanic with the right equipment will be able to tell you exactly what it is. It could be the ignition coil. If the car starts okay then just cuts out you will probably find it is the IAC in the throttle body. If you remove the Throttle body and clean it out with a cleaner from Supercheap Auto (for about $20) it should fix the problem. I had the same problem where it just died on trying to accelerate. I cleaned mine out with petrol and removed the two electrical components from the throttle body and cleaned them and made sure the tunnels to them were clean also. Luckily with mine I run on Duel Fuel so managed to get by on LPG when it played up on Petrol. Hope I have helped you - let me know how you go..
regards
Bryan

SOURCE: no pressure clutch pedal goes straight to the floor 1988 holden r
If hydraulic actuated mechanism, loss of fluid, defective master cylinder or slave cylinder at the clutch. Missing pin or other part between slave cylinder and clutch arm. Loose or broken slave cylinder mounting. Missing pin or broken part between pedal and master cylinder. If mechanical linkage, look for broken components or missing pins at moving joints. If you tried to shift into gear with engine running, you may have damaged the transmission gears.

SOURCE: how to remove sump holden
There are no special tools. Once I have the car up I use the correct socket to loosen up the bolts. From underneath while the car raised, probably an extension would help for the ratchet to get through the tight space.

SOURCE: can i put a 98 holden v6 into a 82 wb ute?
There are kits available for this conversion from places like Castlemaine Rod Shop.
If you use am approved kit, it will only require am inspection at your local roads authority (eg VicRoads).
Conversion without a kit will require an engineers certificate and lots of red tape.
Are you converting from a blue motor, or a V8? If it's a V8, fit a VN injected motor - no engineering required due to same block.
