All you need to do is drive the car as you have up until now. When you unplug the battery it resets your computer and your "monitors" need to run and pass before you can pass the smog test. Drive your car for a few days and go back to the same station that failed it. Prior to the test have them inspect the monitors and make sure they are ready before the smog tech does the inspection.
Only service station can reset.If your check engine light is on go to a Pep Boys or auto barn most will read the computer diagnostic for free.( $ 5-10 ) tip might get them to reset it,might.I don't know what a service station charges $ 75 ? good luck
