On my ford escort 1995 the ignition is not working, i turn the key and nothing hapens the lights and radio turn on fine but it does not try to start or click or do anything, could it be the starter motor or fuse??

Get a second ignition key, the one you are using is dirty or moisted, you need to turn on and off the car witha clean key, hapens to me once in a while.!!
Check voltage at trigger wire going to the solenoid. There should not be any voltage there except when the key is in start positon...if there is the ignition switch may be bad.
take off starter take it to advance or autozone they will check it free.could be starter relay or starter if battery is good. replace battery cable if they have not been changed.
check battery connections including the ground pigtale off the negative.clean ALL corrosion off both cables
Load test the battery
Check the start relay connections
Verify that power is going to the starter when you try to start
is it an automatic ?
