Take it to autozone. If you live in USA. They have a thing that checks and they will tell you exactly what the codes mean.

Scanner not communicating

no year, no joy. wow no year... what a pity.....
if 1996 and newer we use OBD2 scan tools
did you use a OBD2 scan tool, if yes state the make and model .
if car is older it uses OBD1, and you place a jumper clip and get flash codes out of the CEL lamp.
some 95s are OBD2 too, but we need exact year, and sub model spec on the Corolla.
The under hood sticker tells you what it is too.
saying Corolla is like saying vanilla.
see why here.
what country, yes, do tell that.
and what engine, i cant guess. you must look

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Corolla

before working car any car (engine or trans) know what you have.
if in USA< open hood, look up ,see that EPA sticker,
it even states what engine is in the car.

see list of engine here, its huge

Toyota Corolla T Sport 2002 The engine warning light is on what does this mean, and how to fix

it means your car has the obd2 trouble code, you need a scan tool to diagnose out the code...this elm327 1.4 can diagnose your car. Or you can take your car to auto zone or car dealer to check it.

Check engine lights on,

When the Check Engine light is turned on the computer control unit (PCM for Powertrain control module) ) has sensed a fault in the electronic controls of the engine and/or the emission system. When this happens you will seldom feel the car engine run any different. There are about 200 possible faults that turn the Check Engine light on, to know what has developed a problem you must have the system tested, this is called an OBD2 fault code test, Kragen and Autozone parts stores and many others do this fault code testing for free.

Had OBD2 codes P0441 & P0446 on my 1999 Toyota Corolla. Replaced the VSV CHARCOAL EVAPORATORE, disconnected the battery, check engine light went out. came back on this am, took the car to advanced auto...

According to my 2002 Toyota Tundra manual (and it may be different for your car) P0125 is as follows:
Insufficient Coolant Temperature
for Closed Loop Fuel Control

This would seem unrelated to your original problem.

Check engine is on light

You have an emissions problem. You need to have the ECU scanned with an OBD2 scan tool. This tool will retrieve the code that has been set by the ECU. With the fault code you can get an idea of where to look. It takes a skilled technician to interpret these codes. The code will tell you what component is being effected but not necessarily what component is bad.
