Hi, this is a common problem with the age of vehicle, the main problem is a build up of contaminents in the fuel lines and injector system.
The best way of solving your problem would be to buy a fuel additive you can get these at most garages. Make sure you buy correct type ie petrol or diesel, Red X is a good brand to use and i find it tends to work quicker than other brands.
Follow instructions on the bottle and then give you car a good run about 30min driving time ensures that the cleaner has ran through the complete system you should find that this will solve your problem.
Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok.
If after running the fuel cleaner through you are still having problems then the next step would be to get the plugs and leads changed as this would be the next step you take in finding out the cause of the problem.
You probably find the cleaner will solve your problem.
If you did have a problem with the plugs or leads this wouldnt show up as an error code so just keep that in mind.
