The buzzing is the relay driven by the daytime running light module.
the module is under the left side of the dash by the fuse box,but above it and more to the middle.right above your left knee about 8 inches or so.

Testimonial: "thanks for the info ,one last question if i take the modual out to repair it will this effect the headlights from working normaly"

I got a Civic '02 the drl sign lights up and loud noise is coming from the glove compartment area. After investigation I found out the right light is not on while the left is fine (when the drl sign shows...

The DRL stands for daytime running lights. There is an electronic module that controls the operation of this that is located under the dash, which is probably where your noise is coming from. The noise goes away when you turn your headlights on because the DRL will disengage. I have replaced these before on civics and it should cure your problem. When ordering your part ask for a "daytime running light module". Hope this helps.

Hi...I have a 2003 Honda CRV and intermittently my DRL starts buzzing. If I turn my headlight on the buzzing stops. Al l the lights appear to be fine. Do you have any suggestion. Thanks...David

The problem as reported by many others on the internet appears to be with the DRL relay located under the hood. If you can find it (check the owner's manual), then it might be a matter of taking it out and resoldering the connectors in the base. Some people suggest taking the relay out and using the normal lights - depending on what the road rules require.

Finally, you may want to buy a new relay.

Preventing the headlights from automatically coming on

Pull the DRL fuse. DRL=Day time Running Lamps. That will disable it completely and lights will only come on with your switch. Want to keep the lights on automatic just not when started? I don't know.

Corolla 99 headlights

The car is equipped with Daytime running lights so it will always be on...to turn it off you must go in the hood and on the right side next to the engine air filter and fuse box, there is two smaller fuze boxes and the first one going from down to up direction labels DRL left and DRL right which are two fuses 10A or so take them off and they will not come on!

Dash light do not come on but lights do for drl on 2005 chev equinox

DRL (Daytime Running Lights) will come on any time you start your car.
The dash lights do not come on, unless your headlights turn on. Either by a daylight sensor or if you manually turn them on by the switch.
So even though your headlights are on with the DRL, if you notice the tail lights do not come on (just like the dash lights don't).

To test if your dash lights do work, turn your headlight switch on. You should the the tail lights and dash lights come on.
