1999 buick regal driver information module

How do you remove the Driver Information Module which is an option and is located to the left of the steering wheel. The lights are burned out and I need to replace them.

What are you actually talking about here... the switches that have the fog lights mode reset and that on it or the cluster itself

Your vehicle doesn't have GEM / CTM . Your vehicle has a VSM - vehicle security module.

How can i find the factory keyless entry code for a 2005 Ford F150?
is also printed on the vehicle security module label. The vehicle security module is located under the dash somewhere . What cab does your truck have ? Reg. , super cab or crew cab? Regular cab ,it's located on the B pilliar , behind driver set . would have to pull the B pilliar trim panel . If you don't know how to do this , mite be easier just take to the dealer an have them hook up thier scanner an check it.

  1. Remove the LH B-pillar trim panel. For additional information, refer to Section 501-05 .

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Location abs module ebcm
This is at the front left of your car. If you pop the hood, and look down kinda under the air filter box, you should see it. To work on/change it, I found it easiest to jack up the drivers side of the car, remove the drivers front wheel, then I think I took out the inner fender, or somehow I could see into the module. This gave me enough room to change it.

Drivers information display doesn't work
I researched and finally found a fix for non functioning Driver Information Center.

The solution was similar to that found for similar modules on other brands of vehicles.

Remove the Driver Information Center Module
(See GM manual for procedure)

Push back clips from black housing box and carefully remove circuit board

Place circuit card flat on table.
Place display and component side of circuit board facing up
Rotate circuit board so the display module side is facing you
There are button switches on either side of the display module
Look at the right button switch.
Next to it just left and above are four 1/4" X 1/8" black components attached to the circuit board
They are marked 430, 430, 820 and 820 reading from top to bottom.
These are resistors with 43 and 82 ohm values.

On the two modules I have repaired the problem was with the top most resistor. It is marked 430 and is 1/2" above and 1/4" to the left of the right button switch. The soldering to the circuit board had fractured. I resoldered the resistor into place using a bit of solder and 15 Watt pencil soldering iron.

All fixed.

The problem is NOT the black spot on the display in the upper left corner
The problem is NOT the DC to DC converter modules.

Where is the ecu on a 99 Buick regal
PCM ( Power control module) under the hood on the left front side of engine bay in the air cleaner asssembly.

BCM ( Body control module ) behind the left side of dash, left of the steering column.

there is no ECM on this model the PCM is the engine controler.

Every time i start my 98 buick regal ls my drivers window goes down
The only wiring schematic I could find for your car is for the 2000 Buick Regal, but I hope this helps,
since it gave me a reason why starting a car would cause the driver's power window to
go down, and no other window in the car - it has a special circuit component
(the "Express Down Module").

Its possible that the Express Down Module in the power window switch circuit has failed. This
module latches the "Express Down" switch in the "made" state until released by the "Express
Down Module." If the Express Down Module is latching the Express Down switch when it
shouldn't (at power-up) instead of when it should (at the window "down" limit), then the driver's
window would lower when the driver starts the car. The way to tell if this is the problem is to
note how fast the driver's windows goes down - if it goes down ALL THE WAY, then you know
that the "Express Down" circuit is involved (and therefore suspect the Express Down Module).
If the driver's window only lowers part of the way, then the Express Down circuit is exonerated.

Try the ignition control module... QDM stands for quad driver module which is apart of ignition control module. This module is located on top of the engine under the coil cover. Where the wires plug-in, this is the module.

1999 buick regal. driver window doesnt work and driver rear window won't work but I can hear the motor on back window???
It sounds like the rear window problem is the regulator which is cable driven and the motor attaches too. check and see if your cable is binding up or if the wheels on the track are broken. the front window could be a bad switch or the module you need to test and see if you have power to the front window motor. if you do have power it could also possibly be the motor try to jump power and see if it goes up or down if it does then the motor is good.
