I have a 1999 pontiac grand am and the tail lights and the dash lights do not work. I have checked all the fuses and bulbs. I discovered that the connector for the reverse lights on the bottom of the car is missing. Would that keep those lights from work.... every other light in the car works! HELP!

THIS WOULD HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DASH LIGHTS... WHEN YOU TURNN ON YOUR PARKING LIGHTS YOU SEND POWER STRIEGHT FROM HEADLIGHT SWITCH TO THE DASH...NEED TO RECHECK PARK LIGHT FUSE...IF GOOD THE BAD HEAD LIGHT SWITCH SOUNDS MOST LIKELY

I have a 2003 pontiac grand prix. My tail lights are not working. So when im driving i loose my dash lights and headlights i pull over see the blown fuse, replace it, i gain my dash &headlights back but...

You have a positive (hot) wire that is shorting out to the ground wire or the frame or body of the car , it's probably under the back along the frame check bulbs in rear good luck

What could be the problem with my headlights.

sounds like a fuse or relay ,have you checked the fuse box drivers side lower dash for headlight fuse(s) also in engine bay there is another fuse box with relays ,list will be on the cover ,i'd start there as power is going to bulb on one circuit , other than that the switch may not be working fully

I have a 2001 potiac grand prix with no tail lights the same bulb work turn signal an brake lights they r fine ive checked all fuses and replaced all bulbs even replaced the light switch still no tail

no, they are not the same. The multifunction switch is on the steering column and controls wipers, turn signals, and hi/low beam headlights. Dash switch is on the dash and generally turns lights on and off and frequently also controls brightness of dash lights. I had a Camry that had the same thing happening...ended up having a toggle switch put in to control the tail lights...fixed the issue.

My dash lights dont work

check the bulbs of your running lights if one of them is burned out it will keep the dash light working, this is designed for you to check your tail lights so you don't get a ticket, just replace the bulb that is burned out.

Dash and tail lights out.

You may need to go back and check the bulbs again,,, because if it's using a standard 1157 bulb, the bulb plugs in "only one way",,, but is easy to get installed incorrectly,,, causing a short which blows the fuse.
If you find this not to b the case,,, then remove the emergency flasher switch from the fuse box along with all the light bulbs, front and back. Then reinstall a new fuse.
If it still blows the fuse without bulbs in it, the you either have a faulty bulb seat or a wire is pinched and grounded to the body somewhere. (this will require an intense visual inspection)
