Soaking wet floor mats - '98 Mazda Protege ES

Recently, the front & back passenger side floors have been soaking wet - actually almost an 1" deep in the back. The windows weren't left open, the moonroof is closed, none of the seats or doors are in the least bit wet. I can't figure out where it's coming from.

If I leave the car unused for a couple of days, with the windows down under sunny skies, it dries out. However, after driving around for a couple of hours with the a/c on, the flood is back.

It's mostly concentrated in the front passenger side floor closest to the seat, and pretty much the whole back passenger side floor well.

The car has 88K miles, and is in pretty good condition. The a/c was fixed about 3 months ago (not the compressor, something else was leaking), but this problem started after that. And the guy that fixed that moved away so I can't take it back to him.

If you have any ideas, just so I can have a clue before I bring it into another shop, I'd really appreciate it.
Many thanks.
-M

Thanks so much getting back to me so quickly.

At the risk of sounding totally clueless, which I am in this regard, could you perhaps be a bit more specific as to an exact location of the pipe? Can I access it from above or below the engine (I'm assuming it's on the engine side of the firewall).

    Thank you again.

look under the dash ,remove the cover if it has one and look up and you should see a rubber pipe that collects the water from the bottom of the AC unit and runs it out through the bulkhead or the side ,this is either blocked or its not been refitted after AC was repaired

Rover 25 passenger side floor well soaking wet

have you had the AC on by any chance ,if not then check the drain holes either side at the bottom of nwhere the wiper motor is as their are drain holes either side of the bulkhead or firewall in american ,to drain the floor just drill a 5/16th hole in the lowest point of the floor when the car sits in the kerb this will allow the water to escape i,old adage of mine if it can in then let it out

Could be a quarter panel seal. I've seen a few where the leak is VERY hard to find.

My 2002 Ford Taurus passenger floor (front) is soaking wet. I have read that it could be a plugged hose. I am a female and have no experience...where do I find the hose to work on this? Can't affo

Sounds like the AC condenser drain is plugged. Do you notice a puddle under the right front while idling with the AC running? If not, the drain is plugged should be an easy and cheap fix at any local garage.

Your drain lines are clogged, and need to be blown out with compressed air. What you are smelling is mold.

Where is the computer in2002 mazda protege es

Generally, the PCM (computer) is located under the passenger-side floor slope, under a metal frame. You may want to remove the passenger-side kick plate plastic and peel back some of the carpet to revel it.

I hope this helps! :)

Wet rear floor

Have you by any chance jacked up the passenger side, or got vehicle on a hoist to make sure there isn't any plugs on the underside that may have fell out? They could be round or oval metal or rubber plugs, probably in that area.
