If you have a high idle and lunging...that usually happens when there is a leak on the intake manifold side allowing more air to get in, then the computer senses the increase in air and adds more fuel. There in turn has to be one more failure in the system to allow the idle to run away, may be a tps sensor (throttle position sensor) or something down the line.

Hi,

please ensure that you've recently had your oil changed at a neary jiffy lube or similar establishment. You can ask them to also check your break fluid and check whether that or other fluids in your vehicle would be the cause of the lunging issues. And as for the clicking, there might be friction within your wheel. As the oil-change personal if you need to add some oil to any internal part of the steering wheel or whether your power steering fluid is the issue.

Thank you.

When the car shifts it makes a violent lunging motion. (Auto Trans)

See the transmission shop. They can help you determine if its a transmission problem or something else.

When i shift from park to drive there is a clunking noise and the truck lunges forward.

idle is too high, you have a broken motor / trans mount or the drive shaft has a broken U joint.

Idle is fluxuating at red light car will lunge forward

stop by any good parts store (Autozone, Advance, etc..) and have an OBII scan (fault scan) done. It will identify the problem. They offer this service FREE
