I have a 2002 Regal LS. My cruise light comes on when in off position, usually when starting engine. Cruise will not work when the light is on. Light goes off by itself or when blower fan is turned off or on, sometimes. The cruise works again when the errant light is off. Blower does not come on sometimes. When driving, it comes on, sometimes when I hit a bump or when I am going over 45 mph. Once it is on, it stays on until it is shut off. When turned back on it will work sometimes. One time I tapped under the dash on the passenger side when engine idling and it started blowing. Fuses OK. I checked inside the cabin filter compartment, blower wheel area, to see if it was wet and it was dry as a bone. Cruise and blower trouble started at the same time, August 2009.

Maybe not related, but not solved either.
Found out problem is fan blower. When the blower does not turn it causes the cruise light to come on. I whacked the dash under the blower motor location, blower started and the cruise light went out. A couple of more whacks and the blower turned faster. It acts like it might be the bearing in the fan wheel. It reoccurs from time to time. A whack starts the blower motor. Running the fan motor at different speeds and often seems to help. I suppose changing the fan/blower wheel would be the final solution.
