I had the same problem, i replaced the thermastat, and the water pump. i talked to one of my mechanic friends and he asked me to see if i have heat when my car gets warm. i dident. he flushed out my cooling system and re filled it. i now have heat and my car is not overheating
Your car is not overheating. It is boiling over because the overflow tank cover has failed. This cover has a small regulator built into it. The tank should be able to hold 15PSI pressure with out leaking out. You can take the reservior out and plug all the holes but one. Connect an air compressor set to 15PSI to the open hole. No air should come out over the overflow tube. If it does the cap has failed or its dirty inside. A whole new tank with cover is $35-50. Your car was never overheating and boiling over. It was boiling out because the cap can't prevent the system design pressure from escaping taking the coolant with it
Check the cooing fans and make sure they come on when they are supposed if they don't come on when the car starts getting hot shut the car off and direct wire to battery to test the fans and make sure they are working. if the fans come on that way the cooling fan switch is bad should be mounted in thermostat housing. if fans work like they are supposed plugged up to car check the radiator cap could cause the same problem.
Check to make sure that the air dam under the car is in place. The other suggestions are good and definitely can contribute to overheating. I had a situation on my 95 3.4 when it was about a year old - my wife tore the spoiler off - this channels air into the engine compartment. You will notice that the 4th gen camaros don't have a traditional "grill" - the dam is the only way that air can get pushed up.
Once again, I'm not discounting the other 2 posts - they are on target as well.
