Check your stop light switch, mounted on the upper portion of the brake pedal, it has an electric plug in attached to it, it should be why the brake lights are'nt working.

I have brakes, but my brake lights don't work. I changed the brake light switch and the brake lights still don't work, I also have a brake switch relay. Could that be the problem, and where does it...

does the high mounted stop light work? if so, the turn signal switch may be bad. the brake light signal runs through the brake light switch, there was a recall 08V231000 for some of these models, call the dealer and have them check if there is an OPEN RECALL on your truck. . as for the hard starting, check fuel pressure , if its not at least 60psi, it needs a new fuel pump and filter.

2002 lancer the brake lights don't work

Check the fuse, if the turn signals are working in the back, the bulbs are ok. If the fuse is good, check the brake switch, it's under dash, near the top of the brake pedal. Either the button is stuck and not popping out when the brake pedal is pressed, or the switch is bad.
