Saab 93 2001 I just bought an 2001 Saab 93 with 105000 miles on it,, carfax shows dealer did all maintenance, it looks like it's has always had 10w-30, my question is should I switch to a synthetic
Thanks
Yes. switch to synthethic. you will feel a huge difference in performance, epecially at take off. you will also get longer life out of the engine. you can never go wrong with synthetic
Testimonial: "Thanks for your input, I've talked to the dealer who took care of the car and they were useing a 50/50 blend"
Do not use mineral oil in the B205 engine. They have a real bad problem with sludge in the oil pick up strainer (essentially a sieve that gets blocked) caused by the exhaust downpipe cooking the sump and it WILL lead to engine or turbo failure. Fully synthetic 10w30 (on higher mileage) or 0w30 for under around 70-80k and change it every 3000 miles. Mobil 1 10w30 is what I use in mine and I change it every 2k as I drive it quite hard and it's not running stock power levels.
Yes you should use fully synthetic turbo 0w30 or 0w40 jm/ ll/ a/25 deisel fully synthetic 5w40 or Mobil 10w40 or castellated 0w30
