This type of problem s very tricky. 98% of the time after you run a couple scans test some wiring and so on it turns out to be the tippon now because of my spelling I will tell you in common english. This is the master fuse box and relay holder they are common to fail but they are costly. Best if you could find a used one but you are taking a chance. To be 100 percent you would need to take it to a shop, and then again it is costly. I would replace this tippon or fuse box/relay box Good Luck Mike L.
It is probable the catalytic converter is no longer doing the job it is supposed to be doing but it is equally probable this has a deeper cause such as physical damage to the exhaust, too much unburned fuel entering the exhaust for too long due to a misfire, excessive engine oil consumption.
Considering the age of the vehicle it would be sensible to begin by ensuring the fuel pressures are ok and the injector spray patterns are good - bad spray patterns can introduce fuel into the cylinders that don't burn very well...
code p0172 refers to system too rich bank 1===causes --intake blocked (air filter) EVAP canister purge valve---fuel pressure---EGR system--injectors--HO2S (oxygen sensor). The first thing to check would be the oxygen sensor and air filter. Then check the fuel pressure in the fuel manifold to check for fuel pump/filter/ pressure relief valve that may be causing an injector fault
actually there are 4 sensors. one on each exhaust manifold and then as you said one prior and aft the catalytic convertor. this is saying it is reading too rich a reading. check the condition of your spark plugs. you need to pin point the reason. chances are it is not the o2 sensor. happy holidays
P0480 Cooling Fan I Control Circuit Malfunction -----------------------------
Chrysler has issued a TSB (#18-004-07)containing the fix for an inoperative cooling fan on 2005-06 Caravans and Town & Country vans with the 3.3L or 3.8L engines. The problem usually occurs after driving in heavy snow conditions where snow and ice form at the bottom of the fan shroud and block the fan blade. This condition also sets a P0480 code in the PCM. The fix requires a PCM reflash. If you have an inoperative cooling fan or a P0480 code, check the version label attached to the PCM. If a software update has not been performed since this TSB’s issue date of January 24, 2007, you should have the update performed before you start replacing any parts.
