Question about 2005 Ford F-150

1 Answer

I have a 2003 F150 Supercrew. About 42,000 miles. Just started to get a slight squealing sound from the rear end of the car when moving from a dead stop. Very intermittant and lasts only for a very short duration. Started shortly after hauling a moderately heavy load in somewhat dusty conditions, but not sure if it's related. Any ideas on the cause? Any ideas on things to check?

Check brake drums for accumulated dust if it has rear drum brakes....have the U-joints checked out and lubed if possible

I just started having problems today. 2001 ford f150 . It felt like tranny was slipping. Checked fluid, a little low, topped it off. truck goes into reverse but wont move backwards. truck moves forward...

Sounds like the rear end differential is going out. I had a similar problem on a customer's truck, and it was the differential in the rearend. Replaced the rearend, and the noise was gone.

03 supercrew f150 steering

check the steering linkage of the front end for loose components, most can be checked with the vehicle on the ground.
Also , check the Intermediate Steering Shaft for play, this runs between the steering gear box & the lower part of the steering column. it has an expandable section with 2 overlapping shafts that can wear & become loose with age & driving

I will be driving and pulling up to stop and it feels like im getting rear ended and i think its my rear end

Well the best thing to do id to put a block of wood 4x4" under the back wheels(Back and Front of tyres) and get someone to help you rock it with h/brake off , and see if the rear wheels stay still and the body moves slightly forward/back and if so then the bushes (Rubber) will need replacing, also check out the Uni/joints on the tailshaft for movement ( backwards/forwards/Left/Right) that will give you a good idear as to much play in either the bushes or tail shaft could give you the problem

do not use any fuel additives at all. and only use 87 octane fuel nothing higher. 4.6 and 5.4 ford engines do have a pinging sound especially with a load. but it is normal

F150 supercrew cab won't start,,battery good

If you're using your truck to jump start another dead battery in a different car..your truck should be runing when you do that.....

If you leave your truck turned off and are jump starting another car/truck that way..you are drawing your CCA (cold cranking amps) way down, and really shortening the life of your batery..you'll be needing to get jump started yourslf pretty soon.
