Question about Buick Rendezvous

Key won't turn in ignition. I had a problem getting the key in at first, but now it goes in fine but will not turn. I have jiggled the wheel back and forth, up and down and made sure it was all the way in park. The problem just happened for no apparent reason what so ever. I am poor, have no money to fix this problem and I have only had the car less than 2 months. I have already had air problems and blower motor problems that I just spent all 400.00 of my savings to fix and now this. I need to get to work tomorrow. What can I do????

I had a similar problem on another GM product, I was freaking out then by accident I turned the wheel back and forth while turning the key at the same time and the ignition unlocked, it's worth a shot. I hope it helps

Had a similar problem with my Chevy Cargo Van..tumblers in igition old and worn, also noted key/wheel problem like yours. Be extra careful about putting in Park, keeping tension off steering wheel, and being sure key goes in smoothly. Sometimes you just have to jiggle the key and take tension off the wheel. (Beats replacing the ignition locks, etc.)

Steering wheel won't lock, key won't come out

If the ignition normally only locks with the vehicle in park position, then check the switch on the gear lever mechanism is working.
If not, then you'll have to jiggle and wiggle that key out or replace the ignition lock.

Stuck eldorado key in DTS ignition now car won't start

Make sure your steering wheel isn't locked. Sometimes a key won't turn until you jiggle the wheel while trying to turn the key.

HI--have 2000 Grand Cherokee--ran fine Fri --today neither key will turn the ignition cylinder. Have tried tapping, jiggling, etc for 2 hrs Battery is almost new--has power. Is it ignition cylinder that...

Try using your spare key (when you say neither, is this what you mean), spray a touch of WD40/lubricant in there, when you put the key in there try putting it in gently and make sure it goes in all the way, sometimes than lass tiny bit can make a dfferance. If you do have to take it out, a master locksmith can fix it up for you, it might be cheaper than replacement, compare prices. Make sure you jiggle the steering wheel as you try turning the key as well!!

The key wouldn't turn on the ignition and the shifter doesn't move. It was fine when I parked it last night. Appreciate the help

Jiggle the steering wheel while turning the key. You should always straighten the wheels before turning off the ignition.

2000 Saturn- ignition key will not turn at all

Insert key grab screwdriver tap the end of the key a few times with the blunt end of the screwdriver. Don't crush it just tap it. There are spring tumblers that are not going back to there home. I had the same problem and this worked for me. Also check the key against any other keys you might have it's possible the key is worn.

Jiggle the steering wheel back and forth while trying to get the key back in. Keep jiggling the wheel while turning the key until it all works out.
