hold the reset button in, on the rh of facia.switch on ignition, relesase button and press the button on the end of the indicator switch then press reset button and hold both it will say resetting service mode keep both pressed until service mode reset is showing you have to be quick with the sequence if that wont work it may have to be done by dealer
it needs to be reset using a diagnostic tool ,,,, you carried out a mechanical service ,, the servive light is electronic and has no way of sensing a service was done ,,,,
OTE: If the service interval indicator flashes it may be caused by one of the service interval indicator parameters not being programmed. This can only be carried out using suitable diagnostic equipment. Always check for any stored trouble codes as this may affect the resetting of the service interval indicator. Ensure all doors are closed. Turn ignition key to position I. Press and hold reset button [A] 104667 07, 116126 07 Immediately turn ignition key to position II (within 2 seconds). Keep button [A] depressed until service message has been reset. A yellow warning light [B] will illuminate when it is time to release button [A]. Release reset button [A] within 4 seconds. There will be an audible signal when reset is complete. If reset button is not released within 4 seconds, the service interval indicator will not be reset.
RESET BUTTON IS TRIP BUTTON
If the battery light is on, I strongly suggest that you have
the battery charged. It can be an indication of a weak battery or a faulty
alternator. If the battery light still on after charging then the problem will
surely be on the alternator itself. If that's the case the alternator should be
replaced to resolve the problem.
If the battery won't hold charge even on a new alternator
then the problem will be on the battery itself. It surely is in the end of it's
service life and replacement will be necessary.
You may try to reset it to by removing the positive battery
connector, letting it sit for at least 5mins. then reconnect it again. This
will reset the system and can get the battery light off.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good

Visit BMW dealer, connect diagnosis and adlust all service intervals for your choice. You must be with technician which can adjust all parameters thru laptop.
You have to go to the dealer to get this done. Also remember that once the dealer has reset the indicator you will be driving for up to 1000 miles before the - - - - - - - resets itself. It takes this time for the computer to analyse typical driving conditions and your driving style both of which affect the next service interval.
Alternatively you could consider purchasing something like this if you are mechanically minded and want do it yourself. http://www.durametric.com/buyus.aspx
There's one more thing you can try. On a Mk4 VW, you can reset the service indicator by doing the following:
- With the ignition off, press and hold the tripmeter reset button (on the right side of the dash) - Turn on your ignition, wait for all the warning lights to come on, then let go of the tripmeter button - Where your trip distance is normally shown, the display will read "OIL". - To reset the service interval, turn the clock adjust switch (left side) for about 5 seconds. The trip meter display will change to "---" indicating the code has been reset.
You can verify this by turning the car off and on again. Let me know if that worked out for you.
It doesn't apply to my 2009 ML350. Could any one help?
