1994 Toyota Pick up 4X4, fuel pump only works when starter is run

Try a hot wire to the distributor. If the engine keeps running then the problem may lie with the ignition circuit wiring. It also might be the ceramic resistor.

Are you sure that the fuel pump is properly installed? Have you tested the fuel pump circuits to see if they are working properly? Did you also replace your fuel filter? (It could be totally clogged up) Have you checked to see if there is any fuel pressure at the fuel rail or are you just assuming that the pump is not delivering fuel to the injectors? Have you checked your fuel injector circuits for power and for injector pulse from the EngineControl Module? Have you scanned your Engine Control module to see if you possibly have a Crank Sensor or Cam Sensor problem?

The oil pressure switch only keeps the fuel pump running once the engine starts. The fuel pump should run for 2-3 seconds when you turn the ignition switch to the "Run" position to prime the injectors. The oil pressure switch is the problem only if the engine will not continue to run on its own after it starts up.

Alright, i have a 1987 Toyota 4x4. it has a 22RE full injected motor..it was able to run, but it was running rich, and idling pretty eratic..and then now..it only starts up..and dies. after like 5seconds. 

got a 92 toyota 22re starts up and runs for a few seconds and quits gets plenty of gas

how about ck,,coil,pick up coil, or modular,to see if u have an off voltage going to spark plugs

Sounds like valve problem. Get your local garage to check the compression, if your valves are worn, them the compression will be low.

If this is the case, then an engine strip down is required.

To be sure that the fuel pump is functioning correctly, is to check at the engine side if there is fuel running to the fuel filter. Otherwise, check the fuse and the fuel injection relay. It could also be caused by a bad battery which you can check using a voltmeter. You could also have a weak starter, especially if your would notice if the past days you have observed the car having difficulties starting up.

sounds like no fuel pressure, check to see if fuse is blown for fuel pump,
