Ok. the relay is under dash drivers side left of the steering column. now first check for power with key in the start position. at the heavy yellow wire at the relay and then check the purple wire if both have power then your neutral safety switch mybe at fault. check it as well. check for power at the switch bolted to transmission. the two heavy wires going to the switch will be starter in and starter out. so check for power at the two there if power goes in but nothing comes out the change the neutral safety switch.

no it is quite hard to find. it is not with all the rest or by the fuse box, it is against the firewall. you will find for wires going into it. two heavy yellow and two thinner wires. good luck in finding it. I do have a picture in a diagram, I can email it to you if you give me your email.

This may be related to the antitheft system The system is known for turning off the starter and/or injectors when it fails. Is there a light on the dash that says SECURITY? This is a common problem worth looking into. http://www.diy-gm-security.com/

No.
No. The security light only flashes when the switch is off.
Is the starter relay separate from the fuse box location? All I'm seeing is a massive cluster of wires that come from the fuse box itself. There are lots of yellow wires, some heavy, some thinner. There are also multiple purple wires.
What should the relay look like? Is it a square box? I don't know what I'm looking for. I have an Haynes manual and have gone through it multiple times. It does not tell me what the starter relay looks like or where it's located.
Thanks! alvinhar @ msn . com
