Question about 2006 Hyundai Sonata

1 Answer

AC quits in my Hyundai Tucson comes back on after 15-20 minutes

I own a 2005 Hyundai Tucson in which the Ac keeps quiting in. When this happens the defrost, heater and fresh air flow will not work either. After 15-20 minutes it will kick back on and work fine for 15-20 minutes, then it quits again. I took it to my dealer and they can't figure it out, even after they drove it around town and had quit on them. My Tucson only has 18722 miles on it and shouldn't be having problems already. Any HELP will be appreciated. Thank you.

It sounds like the dryer is bad, or the filter that goes to the high pressure line. It could also be the pressure switch that goes on the high pressure line comming off the dryer. It has 2 wires that come off of it. It simply screws out and works off of a barring that is pushed by the freon in the system. if its bad or the pressure is low the switch won't work. Usually A/C systems are not hard to work on but they do need special tools, ie a vacume pumb, o rings, special oil, let me know if I can give you any more info

it could be that has a clogged filter, or the controlers dont activate the system inside to let the air flow.

Heater not working

Make sure that the cooling system is filled to the top and there are no air pockets.. If low add water and see what happens. If still no heat, the valve that controls the flow of water into the heater core is not letting water in. Either it is stuck closed, or the linkage that adjusts it is not working.

Is the A/C suppose to come on when you turn the control to Defrost in a 2009 Hyundai Tucson?

Yes the AC runs with defrost on, this is to dry out the air that hits the glass and prevent fogging.

When the AC is not on, I am getting hot air blowing out of the vents, Ugh..2005 Hyundai XG350

clairify a/c on cold a/c off warm as in hot like heater hot??
did you loose a pen or something down the defrost vent????
ther is whats called a blend door inside the heater box under the dash
it opens or closes for warm or cold and varies inbetween to give warm .
ther is a motor that controls the door,, have you heard clicking in the dash as u move the temp dial???the lil motor has plastic gears that will strip.or it will just quit. sometimes the heater controler will be faulty itself, start by checking there.. get parts from auto wreckers cheapest way to go!!!

I have a 2006 Hyundai Tucson and the a/c will not

this is right, this uses motors, the selector motor is located on the driverside of the heater/ac box, there are a few of these motors you will need to test them by operating the controls until you spot the one that doesnt move, these motors are on the box one or two on passengerside and one or two more on the driveside, all depending on if you have daul zones or not good luck this can get tricky locating the right one and testing it.
