I have a 96 Honda accord. I bought it a few months ago and it is just now being driven on a regular basis. Twice now, it wont crank. I can not hear the fuel pump buzz when I turn the key. First time it happened was last week, i drove it about 12 miles, then it wouldnt crank. It sat for a few hours and it cranked. Has ran for a week now it wont crank again. Could it be the fuel pump?Suggestions on what it could possibly be and possible fixes please...
Sounds like your fuel pump relay is out. It's very common on these older Hondas. Quite pricy too.
Too many possibilities: bad ignition switch bad battery, bad crank position sensor, blown ignition fuse. etc
Not cranking & no fuel pump are 2 different issues. It may be an electrical problem in the ignition system or a faulty starter (if it happens only warm) After starter cools .......perfect restart.

Battery or starter. Sometimes the battery will have enough power to activate fuel pump and dash lights but not enough to turn starter.

Check for fuel, sound's like not getting fuel.

If it didn't turn over, that sounds like a bad battery. You can test the battery like this:
Turn on the headlights, then try to start the car. If the battery is bad the headlights will dim or go off.
If the headlights stay bright, the battery is ok. But this means there is a bad connection, so check the battery cables.
Hope this helps.
