AUTO warning light comes on - 2004 Renault Scenic Petrol Auto

The AUTO warning light comes on with similar syptoms. Clunky gear change when going up a hill when engine/gear box stiill cold after a few minutes of driving. Driving seem snormal except starting from stop in second gear (I think)
Renault Dealer said it was owing to faulty pressure sensor in gear box. Quoted $AUD600 to fix.
AUTO light goes out when ignition turned off then on. This is not always convenient. If I drive carefully until gear box warms, then no problem.

Check the trans when warm and idling in Park. Fill through the dipstick tube with a suitable small neck funnel. If its still shifting badly when at full level seek experienced help.

Renault Scenic 05 plate petrol 1.6 The 'check emissions' warning light has come on. What is the likely cause? The car has been starting poorly of late. Lively battery but slow to fire. Hope someone...

Try to disconnect battery first and then hook back up after a minute. This should reset computer. If it runs good after that and then bogs down again you can get the code for check engine from any parts store and then investigate more throughly. If it runs good after you do the battery don't fix it.

the gearbox is a fuzzy logic type which means that it will try to make you drive in an economical manner i.e.changeing up as soon as possible to a higher gear so when you feather the throttle in 4th it doesnt know wether to put fuel in the engine or not.hence a rather uncomfortable ride.nothing you can do about it.try redexe or wynns to clean fuel injectors/a higher octane fuel to see if you get any improvement.dealers sometimes havnt got a clue.with regard fuzzy logic.

Try and adjust the kick down switch. My Corolla which has a cable was hunting between second and third and even the lightest accelleration made it change gear. I adjusted the outer cable making it longer until it now only kicks down on quite heavy accelleration. Much smoother.

hi if you remove the plug off the gear box ecu it will engage 3rd gear reverse and nutral you will be able to move it to your garage after that.
