Flashing light i have a 1992 honda accord lx. when i turn my key over to the third notch. sometimes the D4 light flashes. when that light flashes my car will not start. it will turn over and crank but will not fire up. i was told to disconnect the postitive battery terminol and wait 12-15 minutes. once i place the terminal back on and turn the key it will fire right up. theres also times when the light flashes and it wont start. ill disconnect the terminal and when i re connect it and start the car. the light sometimes comtinue to flash. when the light continues to flash but still idles. the car will not move when yoyu put it in D4. i dont kno what could be causing it.. many ppl have told me it is something to do wit the transmisson. if anybody has any answers as to what i should do..it would be cool if u could help

-very important check for brake light when pressed (outside rear)
-did u recently change any bulb at the rear if yes recheck if it the right brake light bulb 1157
u need to do a dignostic for the d4 light and it will lead u to the problem
i have a 92' honda accord lx, it has a problem of the D4 light flashing and the car wouldnt start, but i could wait a few minutes and try again and it would start.
you have a transmission fault the D4 light blinks to tell you that there is a transmission problem when the light is blinking the transmission computer put the transmission into limp home mode so it will not shift normally and you should try not to drive it very far when it gets to this stage you need to have the transmission codes check to pin point the problem
it is the Transmission Control Unit. you have to find the reason why the TCU is flashing the D4 fault code. not replace the unit. have your vehicle scanned for another code. your transmission or transaxle is giving you a warning that something is wrong .
d4 is flashing as a trouble code for the automatic transmission... i would say without research that it is a code for a transmission solenoid. maybe while washing the car some water got in and caused a short...these solenoids are usually weatherproof....you could try disconnscting the battery for 30 secs..to clear the trouble code and then start the car. remember you may lose your preset info!
on my 95 accord my d4 light used to flash after driving for for an hour or 2 then the speedo would do strange things.so i changed the speed sensor relay [located on the gearbox] and solved the problem.
