INBETWEEN THE ENGINE AND THE TRANNY YOU WILL SEE A METAL PLATE IN THE SHAPE OF A HALF MOON WITH 4-5 BOLTS HOLDING IT IN PLACE. SOME OF THESE YOU MAY HAVE TO REMOVE THE STARTER FOR, THE NOSE OF THE STARTER RUNS INTO THE TOP OF THE PLATE. AFTER THE PLATE IS REMOVED
YOU CAN BUY A SPECIAL TOOL TO TURN THE FLY WHEEL OR USE A FLAT SCREW DRIVER AND TURN THE FLY WHEEL A FEW TEETH AT A TIMETHE BOLTS SHOULD BE ON THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE FLY WHEEL BUT YOU MUST TURN THE FLY WHEEL TO GET TO ALL THE BOLTS ONE AT A TIME

Probs with torque converter are slim. It would still move unless converter broke completely loose. Check fluid level. Could be out

Its the harmonic balancer. The rubber in the balancer has disintegrated and not balancing the motor any longer. You have to install a new one.

After replacing a bad converter in the exaust I test drove the 98 bravada and when it shifted out of first I heard a bang and now I have no reverse and no secund. What most likely happened to the trans?

are you talking about replacing a CATALYTIC converter? If so, that would have nothing to do with a trans problem like you are describing-your symptoms point to a bad TORQUE converter or possibly a shift solenoid, but check your trans level first.

My 2004 dodge ram 4 by 4 makes a loud bang when I shift into reverse. The truck is a quad cab,5.7l hemi. It has 97000k on it. It only happens when shifting into R. It is an occasional problem.

Sounds like your U-Joints need replacing, or your driveshaft yoke may be worn and loose. you may also have your 4x4 wheel locks partially engaged.

Severe engine noise in synch with RPM, 94 Olds Ciera S

That sound of a thwack could be one of your cylinders has bottomed out ! If you experienced an overheated engine ! Then that could be the problem that includes major engine repair ! This work involves with removing the oil pan to get at the connecting rod and disconnecting the bottom of your cylinder ! Or replace the whole crankshaft ( part of the heart of your engine ). I would be so costly just to rebuild your engine if your can afford it! If your can't afford the costly repair than junk it ! I would !!
